London Fashion Week: Street Style
With the London Fashion Shows just wrapping up, we look to the street style of the fashionable audience to see what’s trending (i.e. what we need to add to our closets) right now. Here’s Fashion Fabrics Club’s top favorite trends seen on the fashion scene.
Bohemian Blues
Easy, breezy hippy-chic pieces were a main attraction on the streets during LFW and it’s a perfect way to breeze through the upcoming warm-weather months (summer’s right around the corner…right?). Taking cues from the “Summer of Love” trend of the ‘60s and ‘70s, we’re seeing patchwork prints, floaty chiffon, and gauze caftans as having a major moment as soon as the weather turns.
Love is in the Air
Airy, romantic dresses graced the style mavens schlepping from show to show, turning into a scene out of a fairytale (albeit, a very fashion forward one). Featuring feminine fabrics like eyelet, lace, and chiffon, these dresses are easy to copy and super fun to wear.
In the Wild
Animal print from leopard to cheetah, zebra to tiger, and a whole lot of snakeskin made a major roar this week. Seen in everything from silk wrap dresses, faux fur jackets, leather boots, and even leggings.
Relaxed yet Refined
A number of fashionistas threw caution to the wind and opted for a look that said “casual meeting”, choosing button downs, tweed blazers, and denim jeans over the typical spectacle-type ensembles most often seen on the fashion streets—and we have to say, it was very refreshing.
Unbasic Black
Head-to-toe black is an easy backup when you’re in a pinch, but the attendees of LFW took it to a whole other level. From tulle frocks to leather harnesses, black made a new statement, one that says “look at me” rather than “I’m just trying to blend in.”
